Job Specification:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of heavy civil infrastructure projects. This includes managing project timelines, budgets, and quality control, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and coordinating.
Key Responsibilities:
The appointed Project Manager will take total responsibility for the following:
1. Scope Definition and Agreement:
Collaborate with the Managing Director and the client's representatives to establish a detailed project scope, program, specification, etc. Ensure alignment on technical, commercial, and end-use preferences to produce a complete satisfactory outcome for all parties involved.
2. Team Formation:
Nomination selection and appointment of a program management team based on the project needs and as pre-agreed with the client. Define clear roles and responsibilities to optimise project efficiency.
3. Management Adaptability:
Ensure on-site execution quality, prioritising health, safety, and welfare for all personnel. Oversee the professional team, ensuring adherence to design quality and project specifications. Implement robust planning, scheduling, procurement, and budgeting systems to track progress. Supervise construction methodologies, subcontractor engagements, safety measures, and quality assurance. Oversee financial controls, including measurement of work progress, budget tracking, and securing payments. Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting, accounting, and financial documentation requirements.
4. Stakeholder & Contract Management:
Manage all phases of large-scale infrastructure projects to ensure timely and budget-conscious execution. Oversee contract management, regulatory compliance, and coordination with key stakeholders (including government authorities). Maintain seamless communication between clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Provide regular progress updates to the head office and client representatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
2. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects, preferably in an international environment.
3. Industry Expertise: Experience in heavy civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.
4. Project Management Certification: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is highly desirable.
5. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract management (FIDIC or equivalent), budgeting, and quality control.
6. Software Proficiency: Competency in Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.
