Key Responsibilities:
* Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
* Maintain accurate records of all purchases, ensuring proper documentation is in place for auditing purposes.
* Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate prices, resolve issues, and ensure the timely delivery of products.
* Assist in the selection and evaluation of suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
* Monitor stock levels and place orders to replenish inventory as needed.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations regarding procurement.
* Assist in tracking and managing budgets for purchasing activities, identifying areas for cost reduction.
* Prepare reports and provide purchasing data to management as required.
* Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
* Handle any administrative tasks related to purchasing, such as updating supplier databases and filing paperwork.
Essential Criteria:
* Proven computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software.
* Some experience in purchasing, procurement, or a similar role is preferred.
* Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* A basic understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes is an advantage
