Job Title: Business Analyst
The role of a Business Analyst (BA) is to work within the client's Design Authority (DA) on the client's enterprise architecture, which comprises the business architecture, technical architecture, and information architecture functions within the organisation.
The BA identifies business requirements and processes in line with the Design Authority's aims to:
* Leverage innovation by increasing the ability to change and transform.
* Standardise and mitigate risk by identifying common business solutions that can be used across the organisation to enable delivery of the client mission.
* Reduce technology cost and complexity by coordinating eliminating non-value adding solutions, identifying common components, and reuse opportunities.
* Improve business capabilities by being able to invest in common aspects, eliminating any duplication, and ensure learnings and benefits are shared across the organisation.
* Realise the organisation's strategy and transform the business by providing the integral blueprints and landscapes for the strategically required capabilities, solutions, and information and guide projects to deliver them.
The BA establishes the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, defining strategies, validating, and justifying business needs. They conduct feasibility studies, produce high-level and detailed business models, prepare detailed specifications, oversee development and implementation of solutions, liaise with management regarding the delivery of process and organisational change, and manage business requirements and process mapping across the CLIENT's business units.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of relevant experience in a Business Analysis role on large-scale technical transformation or systems implementation projects/programmes, working with multi-disciplinary teams. They must hold a formal qualification in Business Analysis or a related discipline at Level 8 (or higher) on the National Framework of Qualifications.
The key deliverables for this role include creating, updating, and maintaining consistent design patterns and decisions across the organisation, identifying, documenting, and managing the needs and requirements of the business and other stakeholders, analysing requirements, collaborating closely with stakeholders, developers, suppliers, producing appropriate documentation, providing necessary guidance on business requirements and design documents, developing business analysis communication and requirements management plans, participating in and potentially leading design planning meetings, and managing business requirements and process mapping across the CLIENT's business units.
The successful candidate will also possess practical experience of leading on requirements gathering (UI/UX, Functional & Non-Functional) for service impact and designs elements, demonstrating creation and communication of Customer Flows, Customer Persona's, journey maps, service blueprints, data mapping, and To-Be Processes to support future service transformation, leading on the preparation of detailed specifications and solution requirements, experience conducting feasibility studies, high-level and detailed business models, and solution options appraisals, experience as a BA working on large transformation initiatives covering design, development, test, and deployment phases, experience using Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies, experience in standardising and mitigating risk by identifying common business solutions that can be used across the organisation, experience establishing and articulating the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, defining strategies, validating, and justifying business needs, experience working in a DevOps environment, with an understanding of collaboration between development and operations teams, strong problem-solving and analytical skills with practical experience of core business analyst activities using various tools and methods, including process mapping, data requirements mapping, requirements gathering, solution options appraisals, and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to stakeholders, experience of identifying and explaining issues and solutions clearly and effectively, excellent influencing skills with confidence to deal with staff effectively at all levels throughout the organisation, and experience of liaising with management regarding the delivery of process and organisational change.
The ideal candidate will also have experience using Microsoft Office suite (including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, Visio), knowledge and awareness of current trends, techniques, and pursue new innovations, as well as demonstrating a broad knowledge of available business solutions, and experience in leveraging brainstorming, mind-mapping, and focus groups for user engagement and decision validation.
The location for this role will be primarily based off-site at the post holder's preferred location, with occasional attendance on an ad-hoc basis at the CLIENT offices in Co. Mayo. It should be noted that from time to time, the resource may be required to attend onsite on certain days/times if necessary.
This is a FTC 12 Months contract with the possibility of further extension. The start date for this role is Q2 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
