What you'll doCompleting regular competitor and assortment analysis and product group comparisonsTasting and conducting quality checks in consultation with the Quality Assurance departmentUpholding agreed quality standard with supply partnersNegotiating and building relationships with national and international suppliers with an emphasis on local sourcingPlanning promotional activity, taking into account product seasonality, promotional budget, KPIs and competitor offersCollaborating with the Marketing team to drive campaigns, review publications and regular promotional activity and ensure alignment with overall business objectivesSetting and reviewing retail prices on a regular basisPersonnel responsibilities within the buying areaRecruiting and developing team membersPlaying a key role in target setting and KPI managementRegular presentations to senior managementWhat you'll needMinimum of 2 years' experience in buying / food & beverage industry is requiredCategory management experience is beneficialFluent German is an advantageThird-level degree is essentialProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsConfident, motivated and can work independentlyExcellent analytical and negotiation skillsAbility to work under pressureDriving licence is essentialWhat you'll receiveWe offer a competitive and transparent salary system, that ensures pay equality across all positions at Lidl
