This role is a rare opportunity in Ireland for an Associate or Technical Director to lead a team of Geo-Environmental professionals, solving challenging contaminated land issues. We are solutions focused and place our clients at the centre of our work. Our clients are predominantly based in the power, manufacturing, mining, waste, land development and pharma sectors.
Your new role, what’s involved?
* Leading a team of Geo Environmental staff solving challenging contaminated land issues
* Responsible for the technical output of the team – preparing reports and checking those prepared by others
* Developing junior and mid level staff as they develop their technical skills in an evolving sector
* Business Development – Liaison with new and potential clients
* Preparation of Proposals
* Project management from technical, health & safety and commercial perspectives including liaising effectively and efficiently with clients, subcontractors and WSP staff
* Responsibility for financial project management of projects they lead
* Working with other colleagues in environment, ground engineering and mining in Ireland on multidisciplinary projects
YOUR TEAM
* The Ireland Environment team includes a group of environmental scientists and engineers, geologists, ecologists and planners who work across a wide range of sectors in Ireland
o The typical project work for the team includes detailed environmental assessments, quantitative risk assessment, remedial options assessment and specialist advice as needed
o You will report directly to the Geo Environmental Director who is the Ireland Environment Business Lead for WSP Ireland

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* A degree in the following or associated science/engineering disciplines: Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology or an Earth Science degree
* A relevant post-graduate qualification (advantageous, although not essential)
* Ideally chartered
* A broad range of demonstrable experience with evidence of the skills needed to successfully deliver this role
* Significant experience in the contaminated land industry in Ireland or abroad and has the knowledge needed to produce technically excellent reports in contaminated land
* Successful track record in business development
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Able to effectively manage time
* Can build rapport and relationships with teams
* Passion for mentoring staff i.e. developing the technical and consulting skills of the contaminated land team in Naas
* A full Irish Driving Licence (or equivalent)
