Bn M has a need for a Head of Strategic Infrastructure & Technology that will lead the planning and execution of integrated technology and infrastructure initiatives that ensure the organisations success in the renewable energy landscape out to 2050. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, this role encompasses leading our initiatives in offshore wind, thermal, flextech, and e-fuels, as well as overseeing a comprehensive grid and infrastructure plan in collaboration with Eir Grid and other key stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for formulating a future market plan to safeguard the companys interests and enhance market positioning out to 2050. The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following: Strategic Technology Portfolio Management Lead a team managing and accessing a diverse multi-portfolio of technologies, including offshore wind, thermal, flextech, and e-fuels, to align with the companys long-term vision for 2050. Develop a roadmap for technology deployment and infrastructure investments that supports sustainable growth and operational efficiency and work with Finance team to ensure plan is deliverable. Commercial Development Work closely with the Commercial Strategy and Route to Market team to develop project proposals and business cases that support key investment decisions. Lead a team of technology and infrastructure experts to provide the necessary data and insights to facilitate informed investment decisions. Infrastructure Planning Drive the development of a comprehensive grid and infrastructure plan that aligns with national energy policies and industry standards, ensuring future readiness and scalability. Collaborate with Eir Grid, CRU GNI, Uisce Eireann and other key stakeholders to agree on infrastructure requirements, timelines, and investment strategies. Future Market Strategy Formulate and implement a future market plan that protects the organisations interests and positions it favourably within the evolving energy landscape. Analyse market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth. Horizon Scanning Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, conducting research to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation within the organisation. Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging data and insights to enhance technology deployment and infrastructure effectiveness. Lead management of joint venture partners or key stakeholders in the key technology or infrastructure development segments. The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes: Education & Qualifications Honours Degree in Engineering, Commercial, or Renewable Energy fields (required) Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Management, or Commercial (advantageous) Professional subscription or affiliation (desirable) Experience Minimum of 10 years experience in Renewable Energy or Infrastructure Planning and Investment Proven track record of managing large-scale projects Demonstrated experience collaborating with regulatory bodies and key stakeholders Experience within sectors such as Renewable Energy, Power Generation, Technology, or Grid Infrastructure Experience operating at management level Skills & Competencies Strong leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset Excellent project management, strategic planning, and execution capabilities Deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, energy markets, and grid infrastructure Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in customer management and managing commercial contracts Knowledge of energy policy and regulatory environments Highly adaptable and innovative, with strong problem-solving ability If you wish to be considered simply click Apply on the job advert, on or before 4th May 2025.
