Post Summary: The Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Economics, to commence on 1st August 2025. The Department invites applications in any field of Economics to add to its existing research strengths.

Reports to: Head of Discipline and Head of School
Contract: Specific Purpose Contract
This is a specific-purpose contract to provide temporary backfill cover during the permanent postholder’s secondment. As the postholder is expected to return, the role is not offered on an indefinite basis. If they do not return, the post will be filled through open competition.
Salary: Appointment will be made on Assistant Professor Salary Scale (109BN) commensurate with qualifications / experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy (€42,500 - €101,541 per annum).
Hours of Work: Hours of work for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements.
