A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and audiences internationally.The Opportunity2RN is looking for a Financial Controller to join its Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Executive Director of 2RN, with a functional reporting line to RTÉ’s Chief Financial Officer, the 2RN Financial Controller will be a key member of the 2RN management team and of the Finance leadership team and will lead and support other key strategic and governance projects where appropriate. 2RN has an annual turnover of circa. €30m and a team of circa 55 people.Key Responsibilities:The Financial Controller is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. They are also responsible for understanding, managing and communicating ongoing performance of the business and providing financial, analytical and strategic support to the 2RN Executive Director, the 2RN Board and to the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The person will also ensure financial accuracy and data-based decision making is at the core of all decision making.Specific responsibilities of the role will include:Provide financial, analytical and strategic support to the 2RN Executive Director and to the CFO. Ongoing performance management - revenue, costs, margin and cashflow, underlying trends, current/future trading position.Support the 2RN management team in all aspects of the daily operation of the business.Provide leadership to and support the development of 2RN’s small finance team.Manage the financial aspects of contractual negotiation.Undertake detailed analysis to understand business performance and prepare commentary for weekly and monthly reporting.Support the Group governance process via working with the 2RN management team to deliver strong business cases for capital investment and operational efficiencies.Work closely with the group finance team particularly on the month end, year end and board and external reporting.Leading and coordinating the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting cycle and year end audit working closely with the 2RN management team, CFO and Group Financial Controller.
