We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team.
As a key member of the Mechanical Design team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects meet technical and customer requirements, are delivered on time and within budget, and comply with best practices.
Reporting to the Mechanical Design Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering the mechanical aspects of custom automation equipment.
This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and process awareness.
You will be expected to stay up to date with current automation technologies and industry trends while continuously improving processes and solutions.
As a customer-facing role, you will be responsible for understanding client needs, delivering innovative solutions, and fostering long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities: Contribute to all stages of the project lifecycle, from proposal and planning through execution, delivery, and post-project review.Monitor and report on project progress, including technical updates, scope, schedule, and cost adherence.Design and develop mechanical solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards.Perform engineering calculations and specify components as needed.Lead internal and customer design reviews, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in communication.Work according to project plans and schedules as determined by the design lead.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.Ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.Plan project tasks for yourself and any assigned resources, ensuring timely and quality completion.Adhere to all relevant quality standards, including revision control, documentation, and procedural compliance.Present designs in structured design reviews with clear and concise communication.Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional growth within the department.Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely and high-quality delivery.Travel as required for project execution and customer engagement.Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or an equivalent 3D CAD design package.Proven experience in executing mechanical design projects from concept to delivery, preferably in an automation environment.A valid driver's license is required.Key Skills & Abilities: Strong technical knowledge and creative problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Customer-focused mindset with a strong understanding of customer needs.Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to work.Trustworthy, efficient, and detail oriented.Technology-aware and solution-focused with a drive for continuous improvement.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.Ability to make responsible, informed, and effective decisions under pressure.What we offer: In AIR, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees' well-being and professional development, including flexible work arrangements, health insurance contributions, company bonus, maternity and paternity leave, pension plan, training support, and various wellness initiatives.
