We have an exciting opportunity for a Project / Design Manager to join our growing Rail team as part of our Transport Infrastructure business in Ireland. The role will be based in one of our offices across Republic of Ireland (Dublin, Galway, Cork, Sligo, Kilkenny), with flexibility on location.
You will lead on the management and delivery on an exciting major rail line project we have recently won and provide clients with technical excellence through our delivery of projects.
About You:
* A track record of successfully managing and delivering multi-disciplinary linear infrastructure projects
* Technical knowledge (in rail) to be able to challenge project teams on outputs / deliverables
* Strong experience of delivering multiple design stages, including early project phases (Feasibility, Options, Environmental Evaluation, Statutory Planning).
* An understanding of Irish Rail’s Project Lifecycle Deliverables (particularly for Phases 1 to 4) and familiarity with their Design Management Procedures.
* Familiarity with contracts including NEC.
* An ability to manage multiple workstreams and teams, balancing priorities, making value and delivery judgements / decisions to meet or exceed our client’s expectations
* Understanding of PSDP and other health and safety regulations, and the application of “safe by design” techniques
* Understanding of client engineering assurance processes
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline, and Chartered

* Lead, direct, and coordinate multi-disciplinary technical and environmental teams, being accountable to the Client for project delivery
* Work alongside Programme and Commercial Managers to ensure the technical delivery of Rail projects
* Manage client and stakeholder relationships to achieve desired project outcomes
* Set an example for health, safety and welfare on the project and instil a strong safety culture within the delivery team
* Lead and contribute to the development of high performing teams from multiple technical disciplines and specialisms (including subconsultants)
* Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to aspiring project managers
