We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Test Team Manager (Mechatronic) at Exergyn Ltd.
The Role
* Plan, organise and manage the testing on all test rigs to meet the objectives of the overall business plan.
* Operate test rigs and supporting equipment.
* Configure, maintain and troubleshoot the rigs and equipment.
* Coordinate, manage, present, and communicate test plans. Recommend follow up actions based on experience.
* Analyse and present test data to drive the development of Exergyn’s solid state heat pumps.
* Design and develop test rig software as required on all rigs.
* Support the development of new equipment throughout the design process including scope requirements, technical specification of components, CAD work and build/commissioning.
* Manage the test team’s activities, personnel and resources in order to ensure cost effective and timely delivery of the company’s objectives.
* Lead and motivate team members to meet deadlines. Support the professional development of direct reports.
* Support workshop, production and general lab management as required.
* Support the HSSE work in the business. This includes attending meetings, completing actions in a timely manner and leading by example.
* Support, promote and progress 7S. Lead by example in promoting quality, tidiness and organization.
* Support management with overall project plan (milestones, timings etc.).
The Person
* Extremely driven, passionate personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Minimum ME/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
* Significant previous experience (5+ years) as Test Engineer Team Lead or Development Team Lead.
* Excellent understanding of controls and instrumentation.
* 10+ years relevant industrial experience in mechanical design of machines, systems, engines, heat pumps or similar.
* Automotive and/or heavy engineering industry experience.
* Preferably hydraulic systems design experience.
