Supermarket Manager - Cork City

Main Duties:
* Ensure the highest standard of customer service is provided to all customers at all times.
* Promote a harmonious atmosphere for customers, suppliers and the team by fostering a culture of respect, empathy and open communication.
* Ensure the merchandising and presentation of the store are of the highest standard at all times, with effective management of Points of Sale to contribute to Price Perception.
* Communicate required operating standards to all staff members and ensure they understand and implement such standards at all times.
* Monitor the performance of Fresh Food Departments in conjunction with the Fresh Food Manager, providing guidance and support where necessary.
* Adhere to stocktaking procedures and coordinate quarterly stocktaking procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Maintain effective ordering processes and prudent stock management to minimize waste and optimize resources.
* Monitor department overheads, ensuring that all budgets are achieved, including wages, through proactive planning and resource allocation.
* Conduct regular staff meetings to promote transparency, engagement and motivation among team members.
* Provide leadership for Junior Management and staff, ensuring a good working environment exists within the store, with opportunities for growth and development.
* Liaise with the management team to ensure that weekly gross profit, net profit and sales targets are achieved through collaborative effort and strategic planning.
* Seek opportunities to develop yourself concerning technical training and professional development, aligning with company goals and objectives.
* Manage housekeeping to expected standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
* Ensure that standards of excellence are maintained throughout the store, upholding the company's values and mission.
* Assume store manager responsibilities in their absence, taking charge of operations and ensuring continuity of services.
* Have in-depth knowledge of all Health & Safety regulations and how they relate to the store, applying this knowledge to maintain a safe working environment.
* Conduct any other duties as directed by the Store Manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.
