Job Title: Addiction Counsellor - Irish Prison Service (IPS) Location: Dublin Contract: Permanent (Following 6-month probation) Salary: Starting at €38,739- €44,900 DOE.
Supervision Allowance of €65/month (full-time).
About the Role: Join our team as an Addiction Counsellor within the Irish Prison Service in Dublin, where you will play a vital role in delivering individual and group counselling services for individuals dealing with drug and/or alcohol issues.
This role requires a compassionate and dedicated professional to work within a multidisciplinary team to support the recovery journey of incarcerated individuals.
Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and group counselling for individuals with substance use issues.
Deliver interventions using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and other relevant models.
Develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with prison teams and external services.
Keep detailed records of client interactions and progress.
Participate in multidisciplinary training and meetings as required.
Requirements: Minimum 2 years' experience in addiction services or a similar setting.
Accredited counsellor with ACI, IACP, or an equivalent body.
Relevant third-level qualification in addiction studies or social care.
Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office and client database systems.
Ability to build relationships with clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Must undergo IPS Security Clearance.
