Responsibilities:
1. Provide day-to-day planning, management, and direction to the team to maximize departmental and organizational goals.
2. Partner with the Quality department to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Health and Safety (EHS) processes within Cognex Quality Management System.
3. Offer expert supervisory support to manufacturing and distribution functions by mentoring, developing, and leading teams to achieve company goals.
4. Manage the work performance of all employees assigned to the order fulfillment team.
5. Support production staff targets by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and coordinating systems, policies, and procedures including scheduling training, overtime, holidays, and weekly Time & Attendance for payroll processing.
6. Deploy Lean Manufacturing (5S) and Process Excellence (Six Sigma) principles and methods effectively.
7. Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, production flow, floor layout, and product quality.
8. Participate in process troubleshooting to maintain desirable product outputs and yields.
9. Liaise with the Inventory Supervisor to ensure materials are transacted correctly and timely, supporting a high level of cycle count accuracy.
10. Collaborate with Engineering to facilitate Preventative Maintenance and Engineering Changes into products and processes.
11. Establish and encourage a strong teamwork culture within the manufacturing area.
12. Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Degree in a technical related field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.).
Experience:
1. A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a Lean Manufacturing business.
2. Good working knowledge of MRP and Supply Chain.
3. Proven track record of successful continuous improvement project implementation and execution.
4. A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role (preferred).
5. Demonstrated personal leadership experience and understanding of the importance of positive employee engagement.
6. Strong leadership and supervisory skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
7. Demonstrated passion for creating an inclusive culture of team development, performance, and continuous improvement.
