Payroll/Accounts Assistant – Galway City
Our client, a Galway engineering company is currently seeking a Payroll / Accounts Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll procedures, compliance standards and excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process weekly and monthly payroll runs.
* Liaise with department heads in validating data for processing.
* E nsure company compliance in relation to all aspects of payroll e.g. PAYE, PRSI, USC, LPT, BIK, Pension.
* Respond to all employee payroll queries in an efficient manner.
* Liaise with HR department regarding processing of contract amendments, Starters/Leavers.
* Preparation of payroll cost analysis and journals for review and posting.
* Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of role.
* Management of ROS for various payroll returns.
* Management of Enhanced Reporting Requirements for expenses/reimbursements paid through payroll for submission to Revenue.
Accounting Responsibilities:
* Process all banking transactions - payments runs to suppliers/intercompany, payroll, Revenue etc.
* Maintain monthly cashbook and bank reconciliations (EUR,USD,GBP).
* Administer and process company credit cards/expense claims through Webexpenses portal.
* Adhering to strict close off month end deadline around journal entries.
* Submission of various statutory returns: VAT, VIES/Intrastat, CSO.
Requirements:
* Payroll qualifications - IPASS preferred or willing to study for same (facilitated).
* Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation and employment tax experience.
* 3+ years' experience desired within a busy Irish payroll/Account's environment.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical and numerical abilities are crucial.
* Highly Proficient in Excel.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Positive attitude, cheerful and courteous demeanour.
* Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure.
