Locum Staff Grade Clinical or Counselling Psychologists (Midlands Prison)
We are seeking experienced psychologists and 2024 graduates from recognised doctorates in clinical and/or counselling psychology programs to join our team.
The Midlands Prison is a closed prison for adult males with an operational capacity of over 800 men. Our Psychology Service provides evidence-based approaches to working with men who require psychological assessment and intervention based on the layered model of care.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, Psychologists will have regular contact with Prison Governors, Prison Officers, and other specialists. They will also have contact with community agencies involved in the support and resettlement of offenders, as well as with the families of those in custody.
Duties:
* Carry a clinical caseload and contribute to the delivery of a professional Psychology Service
* Carry out appropriate psychological assessments and formulate and implement psychological therapeutic intervention or management
* Provide professional reports as required
* Work effectively with other team members and participate in inter-agency work practice and service delivery
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
* Candidates must be eligible for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS)
* Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year depending on experience.
