iPASTAR
iPASTAR-Improving Pathways for Acute STroke And Rehabilitation is a Collaborative Doctoral Training programme funded by the Health Research Board of Ireland (HRB). The iPASTAR programme has equipped a cohort of four PhD trainees with skills in a wide range of research methodologies focussed on the generation of evidence and development of cost-effective patient-focused interventions to improve patient care and outcomes.
Summary of Post
The iPASTAR team wishes to hire a Research Assistant to help with a project titled, "STROKE-SPEAK" which is funded under a Health Research Board of Ireland (HRB) Knowledge Translation Award (KTA). The Research Assistant will work closely with the PIs of the iPASTAR programme. This will involve coordinating the development of educational content; hosting PPI and development workshops, and final refinement of STROKE SPEAK resources including coordination of the translation of resources.
Specifically, the duties of the post are:
1. To develop educational STROKE SPEAK content for staff and patients.
2. To coordinate and host Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) / stakeholder and development workshops.
3. To lead the final refinement of STROKE SPEAK resources.
4. To coordinate the translation of final resources.
5. Contributing to the development of dissemination outputs, including a project website.
6. To develop a repository for all Stroke SPEAK resources to ensure that they are accessible for stroke patients, their families and carers, all healthcare professionals working in stroke care and the general public.
7. To evaluate reach and capture measures of success of the Stroke SPEAK repository.
8. Co-ordination of own day-to-day work to support ongoing projects.
9. Undertaking duties assigned by the PIs, workpackage leads or his/her nominee in support of the projects.
Qualifications - (Essential):
1. A BSc or MSc or equivalent in management, marketing, health services research or a related discipline.
Knowledge & Experience - (Essential):
1. Excellent project management skills.
2. Evidence of the ability to work independently and efficiently, including excellent oral and written communication skills.
3. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, report writing and IT skills.
Knowledge & Experience (Desirable):
1. Experience developing research outputs for diverse audiences.
2. Project management experience.
3. Experience of working in a multidisciplinary & international research teams.
4. Experience in stakeholder engagement.
5. Content expertise in stroke or other age-related chronic disease.
