Position: Analytical Development Chemist
The Analytical Development Chemist will have responsibility for:
* Development and validation of new analytical methods and method transfers for new product lines.
* Writing and executing Analytical Method and Instrument Validations.
* Chemistry testing of trial products.
* Instrument troubleshooting and investigation management.
* Preparation of batch documentation and review and approval of data lab reports and protocols.
* Delivering Analytical Development Chemistry projects within agreed timeframes.
* Preparation and updating specifications and procedures.
* Coordinating and scheduling all activities for the Analytical Development laboratory through Baxter’s Enterprise Management System and Project Board meetings.
* Reviewing and approving all lab reports and protocols.
* Maintaining laboratory inventory and equipment.
* Ensuring that the Analytical Development laboratory is operated in a compliant manner.
* Maintaining a quality assurance programme and procedures for the Analytical Development Chemistry lab.
* Communicating Analytical Development activities to Baxter Castlebar management and US and European R&D centres as well as Third Party customers.
* Coordinating the Analytical Development Chemistry Laboratory activities for the Global, European, and local programmes.
* Attending meetings and teleconferences for R&D projects.
* Helping develop best practices for product development chemistry procedures.
Key Skills And Experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills as the role requires interaction with different functions within the plant and the wider organisation.
* Willingness to work different shift patterns to meet business needs and accommodate manufacturing schedules.
* Experience working with HPLC is preferable, but not mandatory.
Qualifications
* A minimum of a B.Sc. in Chemistry with relevant pharmaceutical experience is required.
