Role Overview:
You will be accountable for planning and delivering business plans and utilising consumer insight to achieve key business targets. You will also be responsible for the full implementation of the Corporate Calendar and Coordination / negotiation of trading terms
Business Planning
Generate consumer specific business plans through:
* development of a joint business plan
* use of bespoke shopper insight
* full understanding of business performance and key performance drivers
* development of profit-based account plans and budgets including identifying the customer’s key volume and profit drivers
* development of customer specific promotional plans in line with the Corporate Calendar
Monitor customer promotional effectiveness via company tool kit / reporting system and feed learnings into Revenue Growth Manager / Commercial Finance Manager
Collaborate in the development of account level trade terms
Manage customer product mix and align with strategic brand and category guidelines
Update sales and gross profit forecasts
Business Execution
* Driving visibility and availability of all SKUs within the relevant customer
* Negotiate new listings
* Implement product launches at customer level
* Own retail environment and plan customer merchandising support / field sales communication
* Plan and coordinate price increases in their customer
* Leverage multi-functional team (Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain) to help identify and solve broader business issues
* Increase customer performance through working with and applying the expertise of marketing and category management
* Develop and own the customer relationship
* Manage customer queries and DSO / deductions within guidelines and terms
* Training and development of any direct report(s) and coaching of other team members
Qualifications & Previous Experience
* Graduate calibre
* 4 + years’ experience of working on retail accounts with a blue chip FMCG organisation
* Some category management or trade marketing experience desirable
Knowledge & Skills
* Sales Skills – Has a structured selling process and can conduct / lead negotiation. Can orchestrate a business review
* Communication – Is influential and builds effective links with customer and internal functions
* Analysis and Decision Making – Understands data search techniques and can interpret / use to commercial advantage. Ability to scenario plan against internal budgets and understand key cost drivers. Will see reality and take the appropriate decision / act decisively
* Teamwork – Can work with support others to deliver plans
