School of Nursing & Midwifery
Educating future leaders in healthcare delivery and related research is at the core of the school's mission. The key goal is to empower nurses and midwives to be able to demonstrate the difference that they make to practice, and in doing so, to be able to respond accordingly to the leadership and professional challenges that they face every day.
Objective of these posts
The school is seeking a Lecturer/Programme Director to join the team, preferably with a background in care of the older person nursing practice and education, advanced nursing practice and education, or other relevant areas. The principal objective of the posts is to lead and participate in the development, direction, teaching, facilitation, and examining of each allocated programme.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
* Participating in the administration and delivery of current teaching programmes, teaching modalities, and assessment for postgraduate nursing students.
* Undertaking collaborative research that complements and develops the school's academic status and reputation, and contributes to nursing practice and education.
* Contributing to the development and introduction of new teaching programmes, teaching modalities, and modes of assessment.
* Liaising with colleagues across RCSI international campuses in the facilitation of research and teaching activities.
* Mentoring students, and monitoring student assessment and progress.
* Supervising postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level.
* Participating in the development of RCSI's teaching and learning strategy, including the effective use of technology-enhanced learning.
* Contributing to quality assurance/quality improvement and accreditation of existing modules.
* Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required.
* Undertaking overseas assignments as may be required from time to time.
