MCS are exclusively working with a leading specialist contract with multiple divisions who are seeking a commercially driven and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team, supporting a portfolio of high-spec joinery, fit-out, and manufacturing projects across the London & the UK.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring financial efficiency, cost control, and contractual compliance on a variety of bespoke and large-scale projects within the construction and manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects simultaneously Lead on cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle Prepare detailed BOQs, tender documents, and procurement strategies Monitor and manage subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accounts Negotiate contracts, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards Provide commercial support to project managers and liaise with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams Conduct valuations, cash flow analysis, and ensure timely applications for payment Mentor junior members of the commercial team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives What We're Looking For Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a QS role, preferably within manufacturing, joinery, or fit-out environments Strong commercial acumen with a proactive, solution-focused mindset Excellent understanding of contracts (JCT/NEC) and construction law Skilled in cost control, procurement, value engineering, and financial reporting Confident communicator and negotiator, with experience dealing with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Proficient in relevant QS software (e.g., Causeway, Excel, etc.)
