Senior HVAC Project Manager
Location: Dublin HQ with travel as required.
Contract: Permanent
Purpose of the role: My client is looking for a dedicated Project Manager to assist the Project Management team with the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. The Project Manager is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and has the ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Determine and define project scope and objectives
2. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
3. Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
4. Track project costs in order to meet budget
5. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
6. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
7. Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
8. Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
9. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
10. Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
11. Interact with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements
12. Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and report on the project's status
13. Review engineering tasks and initiate necessary corrective actions
14. Develop specifications for the project's needed equipment
15. Create frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection
16. Ensure the project's compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications
17. Prepare technical submittals and follow detailed project approval processes (e.g., Pharmaceutical)
18. Conduct HVAC design work including drawing updates and modifications
19. Order parts and equipment
20. Complete health and safety documentation as required
21. Assist on-site works such as snagging, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, ensuring all associated paperwork is completed to the highest standard
Experience:
1. Third Level Engineering Qualification, preferably in electrical engineering/building services
2. 5-8 years of project management and related experience
3. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
4. Proven ability to solve problems creatively
5. Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
6. Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
7. Excellent analytical skills
8. Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
9. Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Knowledge:
1. Microsoft Suite of products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
2. BIM/REVIT would be an advantage
Skills:
1. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
2. Responsibility for follow-up on actions based on various team projects
3. High organization and time management skills in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
4. Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
5. Build strong internal and external relationships using effective verbal and written communication skills
6. Work independently without regular direct supervision
