Join an industry leader as Director, Strategic Planner to refine our intelligence engine that drives evidence-based business decisions and strategy. The Director, Strategic Planner at Vertiv will lead global strategic initiatives for the Switchgear product line. This role involves evaluating trends, providing actionable insights, and making recommendations on markets, technology, customers, competitors, and adjacencies. The aim is to support strategic planning, M&A pipeline, and data-driven decisions. Utilizing business acumen and advanced analysis skills, the Director will integrate product, technology, sales, operations, finance, and other functions to ensure strategic cohesion and a strong market position for the Switchgear product line.
What kind of work will you be doing?
* Develop and manage an intelligence monitoring and deployment process;
* Lead primary and secondary research projects with internal and external resources in strategic areas interest;
* Identify and analyze external factors that could affect the organization’s long-term success, including changing technologies (in cooperation with the Chief Technology Office) or customer demand for products and services (in cooperation with Marketing and Regions);
* Become a thought partner of leadership and maintain a longer-term outlook to identify risks and opportunities, making sure the urgent doesn’t crowd out the important;
* Conduct market assessments, benchmark growth rates, align go-to-market plans and ultimately provide recommendations for new entries and/or portfolio optimization for Switchgear;
* Be the focal point for selected management cadence sessions developing concise strategic and executive-level presentations and communications to drive timely and informed decision making;
* Design and lead (when applicable) high profile cross-functional initiatives;
* Coach peer and junior colleagues where applicable.
What will make you successful?
* 10-years of work experience with 5-years+ of experience leading teams in strategy, market intelligence/insights, research, product marketing and business impact scenario formation including M&A identification;
* Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis coupling both primary and secondary research techniques;
* Experience developing processes, delivering programs, and working cross-functionally;
* Experience in or consulting for medium to large technology, industrial or similar organization;
* History of meeting deadlines and delivering high quality results;
* Superior organizational and prioritization skills - ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment while managing associated stress;
* Ability to elicit and communicate requirements among stakeholders and present ideas in an easily comprehensible manner;
* Ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison;
* Proficiency with financial modeling and analysis of programs;
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Marketing, or other highly analytical field;
* Advanced Degree in Business Administration or related field & Experience in Critical Digital Infrastructure, data center, software services solutions and/or networking fields - preferred.
