Design Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Lead to join our team in Kilkenny City, working on hybrid projects. This permanent role offers a salary up to 70k (dependent on experience) + additional benefits.
About the Role
The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the design process, manage technical deliverables, and maintain/improve standards as required. Our client delivers high-end projects across pharmaceutical and data centre sectors, operating extensively in Ireland, the UK, and Europe with a strong pipeline of upcoming work.
Requirements
* Level 7 or 8 qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or equivalent desired.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
* BIM qualification desired.
* Ability to build rapport with clients.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and urgency.
* Organised with high attention to detail.
* Project Management qualification/diploma or equivalent desired.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure the design team delivers drawings and documents and the delivery of the design brief/deliverables using technical building expertise.
2. Liaise with the Design Manager/Project Engineer Manager to complete the design of projects and ensure all requirements quoted are included in the design.
3. Review specifications and documents to ensure all design deliverables are met in a timely manner.
4. Propose cost-effective products and solutions while meeting specifications and requirements.
5. Review and quality check design drawings, documents, and procurement schedules with the Project Manager/Project Engineer prior to issue.
6. Report directly to supervisors/team leaders to ensure deadlines are met and details of the project are produced accurately and efficiently.
7. Liaise with the project management teams to update documents where necessary.
8. Ensure handover documentation is compiled and issued appropriately.
9. Provide information along with bills of materials to the procurement department to allow material orders.
10. Visit site to problem solve, ensure constructability, and record survey information.
11. Issue documents to clients as requested.
12. Liaise with the Client and other stakeholders as required to ensure a smooth handover of the design package.
13. Produce technically sound architectural deliverables (drawings, specification, schedules) using Revit, in accordance with project standards and schedule.
14. Ensure all design work conforms to standards and is buildable.
15. Contribute to the development of architectural standards and solutions.
16. Responsible for planning of resources on projects ahead of schedule and project kick off where possible.
