As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our group.

Responsibilities
1. Creative engineering input, research, conducting trials, and challenging the norm.
2. Day-to-day application of CAD design (Fusion 360) and prototyping skills in order to realise various types of motorised gimbal systems, mechanisms (launch and optomechanical) and optical actuators.
3. Perform preliminary level structural analysis simulations (Fusion 360) such as modal and static analysis.
4. Develop complex models to aid in determining launch load survivability and thermal fluctuations.
5. Mechanisms development - High precision Actuators, gimbals and complex multifunction systems.
6. Optomechanics - Optical Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Testing (MAIT).
7. Get your hands dirty in our workshop! We believe there is no substitute for the real design knowledge to be gained from early builds, trials and testing of prototypes.
Required Technical Skills/Education
1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, MEng or equivalent qualification.
2. 2+ years of mechanical, aerospace, optical or related engineering field experience.
3. Interest in the high tech, aerospace, or space sectors.
4. Hands-on experience in bringing projects through to completion in a fast-paced environment.
5. Experience in an R&D environment is beneficial.
6. Familiar with 3D printing of polymers and/or metals is advantageous.
7. Experience in designing parts for CNC milling manufacturing.
8. Understanding of engineering drawings production for both in-house and external manufacturing.
