The Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Bereavement & Loss) is a specialist pathway recognised and developed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
The role of the Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Bereavement & Loss) is to support and facilitate families through the loss and bereavement process associated with pregnancy, Termination of Pregnancy (TOP) and childbirth.
It encompasses the support of women, partners and their families at the time of termination of pregnancy, early pregnancy loss and perinatal death (both expected and unexpected perinatal death) and supporting the grieving family before, during and/or after their loss.
A key function of the post holder will be to coordinate a seamless journey through the maternity service in order to minimise additional trauma and stress to the bereaved woman, her partner and their family.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application: 1.
Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. (i) Are registered in the Midwifery Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
And
(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in specialist area of Pregnancy Loss/Bereavement Care
And
(iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
And
(iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.

(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Post Specific Requirements: Demonstrate depth and breadth of midwifery experience in the speciality area of Pregnancy Loss/Bereavement Care as relevant to the role.
