We are expanding our finance team to support and sustain our strategic objectives and integration processes following our recent acquisition by SoftBank Corp, which now owns a 51% stake in our company.
Job Summary
The Global Payroll Manager will oversee and manage payroll operations across multiple countries and regions. This role requires a strong understanding of global payroll regulations, excellent leadership and organisational skills, and the ability to navigate complex payroll scenarios across different jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations for employees, DRCs or similar across multiple countries.
* Manage and coordinate with external payroll providers globally to ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing, including integration of payrolls from new regions.
* Develop and implement global payroll policies and procedures to streamline processes and ensure best practices.
* Liaise with The People Team and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other systems such as benefits, taxes, and accounting.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global payroll regulations and changes that may affect the company's payroll operations.
* Handle complex payroll scenarios, such as expatriate payroll and cross-border payments.
* Prepare and review payroll-related reports for management, including monthly payroll reconciliations and variance analyses.
* Respond to employee inquiries and issues related to payroll, providing excellent customer service and resolving matters in a timely manner.
* Ensure the security and confidentiality of all payroll and employee data.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
* Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide support for payroll-related queries.
* Drive payroll modernisation and innovation, looking at tools for forecasting and integration with the ERP and other HR tools.
* Work with the FP&A team on budgeting and forecasting of payroll. Assist with reporting for BPM or other management needs.
* Reconcile all payroll-related accounts, including pension, bike to work, BIK and tax savers etc.
* Maintain all payroll-related records in Netsuite.
* Assist in the implementation of gender pay gap reporting, ESG reporting, diversity reporting and any other similar reporting requirements when needed.
* Support finance for preparation of information for R&D tax claims.
Minimum Requirements
* Proven experience as an International Payroll Manager or similar role, with a focus on managing payroll operations across multiple countries and regions.
* Strong understanding of statutory deductions, tax rates, social security requirements, and benefits regulations in different countries.
* Experience working with international payroll service providers and managing relationships with external vendors.
* Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
