Deputy General Manager
We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional to join our team as Deputy General Manager at the Clifden Station House Hotel in beautiful Connemara.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee the hotel's operations, motivate staff, and enhance service standards across all departments. In the GM's absence, you will be the responsible leader onsite, ensuring excellence in every aspect of our guests' stay.
Key Responsibilities:
* Guest Experience:
o Prepare for arrivals, review reservations, and note preferences or special requests.
o Welcome guests warmly, creating a sense of hospitality during check-in and throughout their stay.
o Act as a visible point of contact, ensuring guests feel valued and addressing any queries or complaints professionally.
* Team Leadership:
o Lead and liaise with department heads to maintain high standards of service.
o Motivate and engage staff to deliver memorable customer experiences.
o Support the F&B team during busy periods to ensure exceptional service.
* Operations Management:
o Coordinate training and development programs for staff, ensuring continuous improvement.
o Enforce grooming and uniform policies and implement disciplinary procedures when necessary.
o Promote cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across all hotel departments.
* Promoting Local Attractions:
o Share knowledge of Connemara's attractions, helping guests discover hidden gems and local highlights.
* Acting General Manager Duties:
o Assume responsibility for all hotel departments during the General Manager's absence, ensuring seamless operations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
* A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of the local Connemara area is a distinct advantage.
