The team:
The Production & Architecture Consulting (PAC) team, part of the Product Development Division, ensures the continuous technical excellence of the Murex platform: MX.3. The team intervenes at various stages of the product lifecycle and owns < used in various domains of the company from internal Infrastructure management to MX.3 development continuous monitoring, MX.3 non-functional testing, and MX.3 production support.
PAC team members enjoy diverse and challenging missions due to their technical focus and proximity to clients, functional,development teams, and internal IT teams within Murex.
What you'll do:
You will be working with multiple intelligent friendly teams globally. Learn to take in Big Data and creating some wonderful dashboards and get a massive sense of pride from your work. Interact with multiple tools to keep our release life cycle up and running. You will contribute to the running and maintaining < to ensure that projects meet organizational standards and user requirements.
As a Splunk Developer:
1. Work with Big Data, understand how to ingest it into an enterprise system Splunk, and display it in a meaningful way to the praise of your co-workers.
2. Create Advanced Splunk Dashboards from specifications from multiple teams across the organization. This will include creating SPL, Source types, Dashboards, Indexes, Data models, Lookups, Macros, Tokens, etc.
3. Create Dashboards using Open Telemetry Data (metrics and logs)
4. Master Perforce/Stash/Visual Studio as we update our Splunk code line.
5. Create bash shell script for back-end cronjobs.
6. Understand complex data results and quantify them into analysis to be integrated into a Splunk Dashboard.
7. Supporting existing Dashboards and helping existing users with the day-to-day issue of using Splunk.
8. Understand technical outputs such as “Performance logging”, CPU, Garbage Collection, Network, etc., produced from the financial application MX 3.1
9. Work with the development and product teams to understand the Non-functional requirements
10. Plan test schedules by project scope or delivery dates
11. Monitor bug resolution efforts and escalate identified risks as and when they occur.
As a Splunk Tester:
12. Use CI Jenkins to create tests on our code line, to insure QA
13. Work with other teams in creating these tests to insure high levels of quality
14. Owning, monitoring and investigating/fixing breaks in the CI. This means working with multiple teams on a shared code line
As a Splunk Architect:
15. Enhance and maintain multiple Splunk clusters and Standalone on-premises installs.
16. Onboarding new Data, create and debug forwarders, Creating new indexers, Search heads, Master nodes, license master, etc. A-Z of running a Splunk Cluster(s)
17. Deploy and set up single installs for multiple teams
18. Monitor and upgrade the cluster with new versions
Main requirements:
19. Minimum 2:1 Degree/Master's in Computer Science
20. 2-3 years relevent work expierence in Splunk
21. Must have Splunk certification
22. Experience with Linux (e.g., Red Hat)
23. Experience Scripting (e.g.Python, Shell Bash)
24. Programming skills: Exposure to some of the following Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Groovy
25. Relational Databases (e.g. Oracle, Sybase), SQL
26. Interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and flexibility are key assets for this position.
27. Be ready for international travel to work with teams on various projects
