Title: Operational Risk – AVP / Associate
Location: Dublin | Hybrid
Role Type: Permanent | Competitive base, bonus, and benefits
RiskTAE are delighted to have been engaged by a global investment manager to identify an operational risk professional to join its Dublin AIFM. This is a permanent position offering broad exposure, direct responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to a highly regarded EMEA risk function.
This is a practical, embedded role with strong visibility across the Dublin business and the wider global platform. It suits someone who wants to be more than a reviewer or reporter—someone who is ready to work across functions, influence change, and strengthen operational resilience from within.
You will be the local risk lead for the Dublin entity, reporting into the global EMEA risk leadership team. The business operates with a lean, collaborative model—your voice will be heard, and your work will have impact.
About the firm
This is a long-established and respected investment manager with deep roots in alternatives, fixed income, and public and private markets. The Dublin AIFM has regulatory permissions for trading and business development across the EU and plays a central role in the firm’s cross-border operations.
The firm offers a high-integrity, low-ego culture, with a focus on long-term growth, professional development, and open collaboration across teams and regions.
The role
Operational Risk
* Maintain the operational risk framework for the Dublin AIFM entity
* Coordinate and conduct RCSAs, incident reviews, and root cause analysis
* Identify and escalate control weaknesses, track issues through resolution
* Maintain the operational risk register and contribute to ICAAP and scenario analysis
* Support the GRC system (Wolters Kluwer OneSumX or similar), including configuration, testing, and user support
* Deliver operational risk MI and reporting for Boards, Committees, and senior management
* Respond to operational risk-related investor due diligence and RFP requests
* Assist in the integration of ESG risks and reporting into the risk framework
Operational Resilience
* Support the EMEA Resilience Lead and the Dublin Designated Person for Risk
* Contribute to the development of ICT risk management and business continuity frameworks
* Oversee due diligence processes for critical third parties
What we’re looking for
* Minimum 2 years in operational risk, internal audit, or enterprise risk within an asset or investment management firm
* Understanding of AIFM and UCITS frameworks and the Central Bank of Ireland’s supervisory expectations
* Familiarity with investment products and processes across equities, fixed income, and alternatives
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence
* Experience with GRC tools such as OneSumX is helpful but not essential
* Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
You will succeed in this role if you are pragmatic, detail-oriented, and able to build strong relationships across global functions. It suits someone who enjoys taking responsibility, working in a smaller but impactful local team, and contributing to a wider international platform.
Next steps
This isn’t just any role—it’s a rare and great opportunity to step into a position of influence, at the heart of a regulated investment platform where operational risk is taken seriously, not sidelined. You’ll be trusted to think beyond the checklist, and supported to grow. In a market where many risk roles feel narrow or distant from decision-making, this one stands apart. If you’re ready to apply your judgement where it counts, and want to be part of a team that values depth, clarity, and purpose—this is the career opportunity for you.
