Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in cloud infrastructure and services, collaborating with other team members and stakeholders.
* Facilitate secure AWS account access for the team, using best-practice security concepts and adhering to zero-trust security.
* Implement and proactively maintain monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues and improvement areas.
* Optimise client application environments performance, availability, and troubleshooting capabilities, in collaboration with senior cloud engineers and developers.
* Contribute to annual security audits and generate the required management reporting data.
* Perform periodic backup reviews and backup restore testing.
* Develop and maintain clear and consistent documentation for cloud infrastructure, processes, and best practices.
* Participate in Agile development processes for effective communication and collaboration within the team.
Requirements:
* Minimum 1 year experience working as an engineer (preferably AWS or Azure preferred, IBM, Google, and Alibaba Cloud considered).
* Solid understanding of secure Access Management and Access Management Policies, with experience of adhering to security framework controls.
* Proficiency in Linux terminal, shell concepts, and scripting.
* Knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP models and their relevance, along with familiarity with containerization technologies.
* Must be well-versed in the understanding and utilization of REST Application programming interfaces.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written – in this role, you will use a combination of technologies, as well as face-to-face meetings, to collaborate.
* Strong analytical and critical mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure and services.
* Must be comfortable working within and with remotely located teams.
Nice To Have:
* An understanding of software development/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
* Proficiency in one or more programming languages for writing, understanding, and debugging.
* Exposure to container orchestration technologies (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, or cloud service providers' implementations).
* Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or Ansible).
* Knowledge of Web Application Firewalls.
* Background in security testing tools (Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or other Metasploit).
* Previous experience with third-party technologies (Gitlab, Confluence, LucidChart, Zabbix, Jira, Microsoft 365) is beneficial.
