We are currently looking for a committed and motivated fermentation scientist to support our vaccine production lines and develop our production processes. If you have experience with fermentation in development or production scale, you may be our new partner in saving lives worldwide.
Team responsibilities and ambitions
Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) is a department that supports our productions by optimizing or developing new processes and participating in various investigations and trouble shootings. You will join a department that consists of nine laboratory technicians, 13 scientists, two managers and a director.
We are a team that supports each other every day and focuses on getting better together. We also continuously explore new areas of focus and look to expand our competencies for the team going forward.
You will be part of the scientist team who is responsible for the experimental design and documentation part of the laboratory experiments. We have a busy day with many different tasks that we solve in collaboration.
Your work tasks
Together with your colleagues, you will get to work with the daily operation of the Fermentation laboratory and be a contact point for the bacterial vaccine productions. The tasks in our department are diverse, but your primary tasks will be:
* Planning and execution of fermentation studies, in collaboration with laboratory technicians and scientist colleagues
* Development/optimization of culture media and conditions, formulation and freeze drying
* Ensuring a clear communication with stakeholders, relating to the fermentation lab deliverables
* Acquiring and communicating process knowledge
* Participating as SME in various projects, root cause analysis, batch consequence assessments, etc.
* Supporting production units in drafting various quality documentation such as risk assessments, batch records, tech transfer reports, and PV protocols/reports
* Performing raw material evaluation and testing (Growth Promotion Tests)
* Supporting AJV’s production units by contributing with scientific/process knowledge
Our laboratory is not subject to GMP requirements, however experience with GMP production will be an advantage.
Who are you?
We expect you to hold a degree in engineering, biotechnology, chemistry or similar with experience in aseptic techniques, developing bacterial fermentation processes, or experience from fermentation/upstream biologics production. Preferably, you have experience with flow-cytometry and PCR and are proficient in data analysis and -reporting.
We need to increase and update our production processes, resulting in numerous interesting tasks both now and in the coming years. Therefore, it is necessary that you can maintain an overview while managing multiple tasks and are open to learning new things. You should also have a desire to work responsibly and professionally in close collaboration with your team colleagues.
We expect you to have 2-3 years’ experience from either commercial development or from academia, working with at least one of the following:
* Support/development of processes
In addition, it will be an advantage if you have:
* Experience within microbiology (fermentation, growth, analysis, freeze drying, formulation)
* Analysis experience (flow cytometry, PCR, etc,) is an advantage
* Knowledge of statistical experimental design
* Knowledge of growth media optimization
* Flexibility in relation to work tasks and are solution-oriented
* Proficient English language skills and at least a basic understanding of Danish
* Structured and systematic working manners
* Ability to collaborate and communicate with all professional groups
