Job Summary
The EHS Officer is a crucial role that oversees the implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
* Training: Deliver EHS training sessions and toolbox talks to employees at all levels.
* Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide reports with recommendations for improvement.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and EHS training.
* Emergency Response: Coordinate emergency response procedures, including fire safety and first aid preparedness.
* Liaison: Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely reporting of any compliance-related matters.
* Culture Promotion: Promote a culture of safety through engagement, awareness programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze key safety performance indicators and provide regular reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are highly desirable.
