Occupational Therapist – Clinical Specialist Neurology
Cpl Healthcare in partnership with Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) are currently recruiting for a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist for a specialist role working as part of consultant led multi-disciplinary team in a dedicated Regional Specialist Memory Service (RSMC).
As a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will provide expert input into the care of those with complex motor-cognitive syndromes, e.g. Huntington’s disease; Lewy body dementias; other atypical parkinsonian syndromes such as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy/ Corticobasal Syndrome, and frontotemporal dementia.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the role include:
·Deliver expert Occupational Therapy advice and clinical care in the RSMC, in particular in relation to those presenting with motor-cognitive syndromes.
·Clinical leadership role in the Institute of Memory and Cognition, supporting other Occupational therapists working in this area.
TUH is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals with beds .The Hospital has adult beds and is one of the two main academic teaching hospitals of Trinity College Dublin.

Candidates interested in the role must have:
·A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist and professional registration in your country of practice
·Eligible to apply for recognition and registration as an Occupational Therapist with CORU ( the Health & Social Care Professionals regulatory authority in Ireland
·At least 5 years full time (or equivalent) post qualification clinical experience, with significant experience in neurology including treating patients with neurodegenerative disorders (Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s disease) and movement disorders.
·Experience in the supervision of senior and junior occupational therapists and/or students and/or therapy assistants
·Demonstrate achievement in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching and/or research
·Police clearance from any country lived or worked in for 6 months or more
·Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
·Flexibility in work practice
·Excellent verbal and written English
