Job Description
A Plant Operator is required for a Electrical Utilities client with the role based in East Cork.
This is an initial 6-month contract position working a days and nights shift pattern as role is fully based onsite in the East Cork generating station.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant on site.
* Ensure the safety of all personnel.
* Conduct day-to-day activities such as monitoring, assessing, testing, and operating plant equipment.
* On a self-directed basis, train and develop to achieve and maintain competency.
* Comply with safety and environmental obligations.
* Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support the shift operations team in day-to-day activities.
* Maintain a shift operations record (log) and submit reports as required by the Operations Manager.
* Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and systems for plant operations, testing and related activities.
* Attend and contribute to scheduled meetings.
* Involvement in initial front-line maintenance/troubleshooting.
* Outage and project management as required.
* Participate on business improvement projects, as required.
* Train and develop themselves and others as required.
* Provide cover on the operations roster as required.
Requirements:
* Essential Qualifications: Engineering/technical qualification, level 6 to 8, or equivalent operations experience.
* Required to provide their own PPE: Arc flash and fire-resistant overalls. Eye protection. Hearing protection. Safety boots. Hard Hat.
* Must also hold the following: First aid certification. Manual handling certification.
Preferred Skills:
* Ability to analyze process and control information to appropriately respond to plant operational situations.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* High-level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
* Experience of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine operation.
