Job DescriptionTurner & Townsend is seeking a highly experienced and motivated professional to lead our Rail Team in Ireland.
This role is a key business-critical appointment, significantly contributing to the country's agenda to electrify its rail network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring technical excellence in large-scale rail projects.ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of rail projects in Ireland, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.Team Organisation – leadership, oversight of recruitment interviews, resource planning/deployment, staff competency development, organizing mentoring and support.
Ability to successfully lead and manage a team on large and complex construction and/or rail projects.Financial management – budgeting, monthly forecasting, staff utilisation, WIP, job profitability, monthly invoicing and forecast against plan.Business Management – lead assurance, quality reviews, processes and systems to be utilised to support the successful, compliant delivery of our projects.
Including Commission Execution Planning & Risk Management etc.Manage our Key Account programmes – oversee and support Key Client Leads plan and deliver key account activities, including knowledge shares, relationship management, new opportunity generation.Business Development - oversee business generation activities in the rail sector in Ireland: Lead business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, preparing bids, and engaging with potential clients and alliance partners.Development and delivery of Portfolio, Programme and Project Procurement StrategiesQualificationsLikely to have over 15 years of management experience, having successfully overseen and delivered numerous major projects and programs within the rail/infrastructure sector.A background in one of Turner & Townsend's key service lines Programme Management, Project Management, Cost Management, or Project Controls.Hold relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) for project management, Professional Engineer (PE) for engineering, and Certified Cost Professional (CCP) for cost management.Demonstrated recognition within the industry through awards, certifications, and professional membershipsAbility to successfully lead and manage a team on large and complex construction and/or rail projects.Expertise in overseeing multiple technical requirements and teams within large-scale construction or rail projects.Excellent communication and people skills.Good leadership skills, including delegation, time management and prioritisation of tasks.Ability to develop long term relationships based on performance and trust.Excellent stakeholder negotiation and management skills.Ability to deliver business goals and financial targets.Capability to oversee and achieve desired results to maintain exceptional service delivery.Proficiency in managing and addressing unexpected risks and challenges.Additional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
