Background and Role
Their UK and Ireland’s head office is based in Sutton, Surrey, and employs over 230 people. The Irish office is based in Dublin. The role of a field-based Account Manager within the Food & Nutrition business unit is to develop new business and secure current business with customers across the Food and Beverage sector, including bakery, culinary, dairy, and beverage.
The role involves the cross-selling of a diverse portfolio of food ingredients from best-in-class suppliers, fostering close customer relationships through regular, virtual/remote customer interactions, and driving business growth through close collaboration with the team.

Your responsibilities will be:
* Managing, nurturing, and growing a portfolio of existing and prospective customers within the Food and Beverage sector through regular, predominantly face-to-face touchpoints (e.g., site visits, exhibitions, trade shows, etc.)
* Proactively identifying and delivering new business opportunities for food ingredients with customers across bakery, beverage, savoury, dairy, and other food manufacturers, ensuring a healthy pipeline is maintained in collaboration with non-field-based Account Managers and Development Managers in the Food & Nutrition business unit.
* Working closely with non-field-based Account Managers, Development Managers, Product Managers, and Technical Managers, reciprocating support and technical expertise to respond to customers' formulation and technical questions while proposing solutions to enhance our product offering based on your understanding of our customer needs.
* Introducing and promoting new product offerings from principals utilizing all potential unique selling points, attending relevant internal and Key Principal product application training as required to ensure the appropriate level of knowledge of the Food & Nutrition business unit product portfolio is developed and maintained.
* Conducting market research and identifying current and upcoming trends within the Food & Nutrition market to ensure we remain relevant to our customers and suppliers.
* Supporting special projects as defined by business needs and agreed with the Business Unit Manager.
Ideal Candidate:
* You will currently be working within the Irish Food and Beverage sector, in either a commercial role or a development position, and be keen to progress your career in a customer-facing, commercial position.
* You will ideally have experience working with food ingredients, bakery, dairy, beverage, or culinary products in a commercial or technical role.
* A degree in a scientific discipline (preferably in the Food sector), or equivalent industry experience and knowledge, is essential.
* A dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective interactions with commercial and technical contacts from a range of companies and internal stakeholders.
* Self-motivated, disciplined, with good organization, prioritization, and time management skills. Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and to prioritize accordingly.
* A team player, working collaboratively with both the team and other internal stakeholders to enable the success of the business.
* Dynamic presentation skills and able to execute in one-to-one situations as well as in large groups.
* IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and experience of working with CRM systems.
This position can be home-based or office-based (Dublin) with travel within Ireland and occasional travel to their UK office.
