In the role of Associate Director, Finance Change at MUFG Investor Services, you will play a vital role in supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives across our Corporate Controller and Finance Operations teams, to optimize processes, enhance technology and ensure alignment with business objectives. The role also plays a key role in our Finance Transformation Roadmap. This position involves working closely with various stakeholders to interpret requirements, document workflows, create process maps, and implement enhancements that meet organizational needs.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial systems, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Continuous Improvement Governance Framework from request intake to final reporting, ensuring informed prioritization and cross functional strategic alignment.
* Support the maintenance and enhancement of financial systems, leveraging low code/no code automation where appropriate.
* Support Finance Transformation Roadmap, including ERP implementation and related Change Management efforts.
* Business Partnering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather, interpret, and document business and technical requirements.
* Create detailed process maps, workflows, and documentation to guide system use and future improvements.
* Identify opportunities to optimize system functionality and drive efficiency.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of financial processes.
* Provide end-user training and support, addressing questions and resolving system-related issues.
* Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and system changes.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements in all system-related activities.
Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience working with financial systems/processes in a business analyst or similar role.
* Ability to host/facilitate workshops effectively, successfully driving desired outcomes.
* Leadership skills with ability to drive continuous improvement culture and coach on key concepts e.g. how to refine a problem statement, identify and measure baseline KPIs, etc.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and requirements.
* Demonstrated experience in creating process maps, workflows, and system documentation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
* Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
* High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Experience with ERP system selection, implementation, or upgrade projects.
Preferred:
* Familiarity with financial processes such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, planning & budgeting and financial reporting.
* Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent is an asset.
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent is an asset.
* Experience working in financial services.
* Any experience of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, QlikView, etc.
* Experience with Chart of Accounts design and finance master data management.
