We are recruiting for a Joinery Designer for our clients, a bespoke Joinery and woodworking company in Kenmare, County Kerry. The company in question, designs and manufactures bespoke wooden stairs and furniture and requires someone to join the team and assist in all aspects of design from initial concept to discussions with clients to ensuring installations proceed as planned. This is a full-time position, based in Kenmare, County Kerry.
Responsibilities:
* Attending design meetings in-house & on-site with clients/architects.
* Document details, specifications, and instructions from meetings.
* Site surveys for drawing purposes.
* Breakdown architectural drawings and produce project-specific, practical design that meets building regulations and the client/architect’s requirements.
* Provide working drawings using AutoCAD 2d and/or “Woodwork for Inventor”.
* Provide information to facilitate the design, manufacture, and installation of joinery products while looking to standardise process where possible.
* Liaise with workshop production team to ensure the manufacturer conforms with agreed design.
* Collaborate with and provide details where needed to other contracted trade people involved in the project.
* Produce purchase orders.
* Handover of drawings to the manufacturer team.
* Guide the fitting team.
* Work with the production team on further optimising & developing digital processes such as CNC’s.
Skills and experience:
* 2+ years of specific joinery experience.
* Must have AutoCAD drawings experience related to joinery.
* Must have very good IT skills.
