The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among our leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled MES engineer to join our highly efficient team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining or updating the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) environment, specifically authoring and maintaining recipes and worksheets for the manufacturing site using the POMSnet system.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Software Engineer with a good grounding in the C# programming language to develop their skills further.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop MES systems.
* Work as part of a team in designing and developing electronic batch records/workflows within the MES solution.
* Support, troubleshoot and resolve issues within the system.
* Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within the MES solution.
* Form good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
What You Need to Succeed:
* Bachelor's degree in computing or IT-related disciplines preferred or equivalent in manufacturing, quality, or engineering discipline.
* Experience in C# coding and SQL database knowledge.
* Experience with direct customer and other stakeholder liaison.
* Written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated learning agility.
* Ability to proactively identify issues and either resolve or escalate to the appropriate level for resolution.
* Experience of software validation within the medical devices industry desirable but not essential.
