The role of Assistant Supermarket Manager and Trainee Manager is a varied one, with the following key duties:
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure the highest standard of customer service is offered to all customers.
* Promote a harmonious atmosphere for customers, suppliers, and the team.
* Maintain the merchandising and presentation of the store to the highest standard at all times.
* Manage Points of Sale to contribute effectively to Price Perception.
* Communicate operating standards to staff members and ensure they are implemented.
* Monitor the performance of Fresh Food Departments with the Fresh Food Manager.
* Adhere to stocktaking procedures and coordinate quarterly stocktaking.
* Maintain effective ordering processes and prudent stock management.
* Monitor department overheads to achieve budgets, including wages.
* Conduct regular staff meetings.
* Provide leadership for Junior Management and staff, ensuring a good working environment.
* Liaise with the management team to achieve weekly targets.
* Seek opportunities for technical training and professional development.
* Maintain housekeeping to expected standards.
* Ensure excellence is maintained throughout the store.
* Assume store manager responsibilities in absence.
* Maintain knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
* Perform other duties as directed by the Store Manager.
