Infection Prevention Control Clinical Nurse Manager
TTM Healthcare Solutions is partnering with a Healthcare Group of premium quality nursing homes to recruit a full-time Clinical Nurse Manager IPC for their Transitional Care Units based in North Dublin.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of the home.
* Act as a member of the team, including the Multidisciplinary Care Team, the Risk Management Team, the Incident Management Team, and the Infection Control Team, as deemed required by the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing.
* Keep abreast of recent trends and developments in infection prevention control by reading widely.
* Ensure resident confidentiality throughout the facility and only discuss information within a professional capacity with the expressed permission of the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing.
* Motivate team members by agreeing goals and objectives through performance review.
* Manage care staff and address human resource issues appropriately.
* Create and promote open communications, healthy working relationships, and stimulate initiative among the team.
* Delegate tasks appropriately, considering the levels of experience, competence, role, and scope of practice of staff members.
* Work towards a restraint-free environment and implement practices in accordance with the National Policy.
* Consider disciplinary and grievance matters procedures according to the staff member's job description, operational policies, codes of conduct, and professional codes of practice.
* E nsure staff rights, including working hours, and responsibilities are complied with according to best practice and legislation.
* E nsure staff receive training in, are familiar with, and implement all policies and procedures.
* E nsure staff have up-to-date knowledge and skills to respond to and manage challenging behavior.
* E nsure all staff receive appropriate training on safeguarding residents, whistleblowing, and the prevention, detection, and response to abuse.
* Attend and chair meetings as required and keep staff briefed on developments in the facility.
* Implement and manage identified service and care changes via the facilities Change Management process.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date statistics of the service provided.
Qualifications:
* Nursing Qualification.
* Ongoing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
* Postgraduate in Gerontology (desirable).
* Previous experience in Care of the Elderly (desirable).
