Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated OBGYN Registrar to join a dynamic medical team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care to patients in obstetrics and gynaecology, working under the supervision of consultant specialists and contributing to the multidisciplinary management of maternal and reproductive health.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care: Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with obstetric and gynaecological conditions. Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with senior medical staff.
2. Labour and Delivery: Participate in the management of both routine and high-risk pregnancies, assisting in deliveries, performing caesarean sections, and managing obstetric emergencies.
3. Gynaecological Procedures: Assist in surgical and non-surgical gynaecological procedures, including laparoscopic surgeries, hysteroscopies, and colposcopies.
4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including midwives, neonatologists, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to patients.
5. Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with information regarding reproductive health, prenatal care, treatment options, and postnatal support, ensuring clear communication and empathetic care.
6. Continuous Professional Development: Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, case discussions, and educational sessions to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and skills in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Requirements:
1. Medical Qualifications: MB BCh BAO or equivalent medical degree.
2. Registration: Eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
3. Experience: A minimum of 3 years post-internship experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
4. Skills: Strong clinical acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Salary and Benefits:
1. Salary: €67K - €79K per year + On-call allowances
