An excellent opportunity has come available for a Junior Helpdesk Technician to join an award winning Best Managed Company in Galway.
This is a very junior or IT graduate level role, fully on-site in Galway.
The successful candidate will be a key part of supporting the function of the business.
Responsibilities:
1. Respond to helpdesk tickets in a timely manner, assisting end-users & solving their IT issues.
2. Manage your day to day bug-fixing tasks, related documentation and communication.
3. Follow-up with end-users to ensure issues are fully resolved.
4. Diagnose & reveal underlying reasons across related issues.
5. Escalate difficult issues & learn from the solutions.
6. Install, make changes and repair hardware and software.
7. Assist in maintaining accurate system documentation.
8. Logging, triaging and solving users issues across windows operating systems, software and hardware.
9. Hands-on role, providing onsite hardware and software assistance to end-users.
10. Work closely with external IT partners, who manage the servers and infrastructure landscape, and provide L2/L3 escalation and assistance.
11. Gain experience and grow into other IT administration tasks such as servers, AV, backups, licensing, VMs, O365, and cloud solutions.
Skills required:
1. IT Degree or equivalent professional certification is desirable.
2. Experience, aptitude, and proficiency with windows computers.
3. Detail oriented - in order to record relevant ticket documentation.
4. Ability to organise, assess and correctly prioritise helpdesk tickets.
5. Ability to diagnose and resolve computer technical issues.
6. Good awareness of C.I.A. in Information Security.
7. Confidence to identify potential system weaknesses and suggest alternatives.
8. Willingness to learn and improve.
