Process Chemist

Current Need:
We're seeking a Process Chemist to join our small-scale plant operations team on a shift basis, working a four-shift cycle in support of our 24/7 world-class manufacturing organization. As a Process Chemist, you'll be responsible for the manufacture of APIs and Intermediates, including technical transfer and validation of new chemical processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform batch manufacturing, cleaning, validation, troubleshooting, and support Operational Excellence and other department projects as appropriate.
* Ensure plant operations are executed in a safe manner and to expected cGMP standards.
* Collaborate with R&D and other departments on New Product Introductions.
* Support business development with plant tours for potential customers.
* Participate on site emergency response team (if called upon).
* Responsible for real-time data entry and transactions for operations within the shift using SAP, IT, and Delta V systems.
* Ensure the plant is audit-ready and all documentation is completed to expected cGMP standards.
* Meet plant key performance indicators such as throughput, yield, safety, quality, and changeover targets.
Requirements:
* A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other science discipline, and/or 4+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with API/small molecule experience.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
* Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment or on one's own initiative without close supervision.
* Previous experience in scale-up or tech transfer of new products would be advantageous.
* Operational Excellence certification (Yellow, Green, Black Belt) would be advantageous.
* Creativity to identify improvement opportunities and the initiative to see them through.
