Job Purpose
We seek a Data Center and Hosting Team Operations specialist to assist in developing and supporting EirGrid's Data Centers, SAN Technology, VMWare estate, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Critical Infrastructure.
The focus will be on supporting major programs to upgrade and implement on-premise and Co-Location facilities.
About You
1. Install hardware technologies in on-premise and Co/Lo environments.
2. Support the Data Center and Hosting Lead in delivering project targets and operational KPIs.
3. Manage day-to-day operations of Storage Area Networks within Critical National Infrastructure (24x7).
4. Test and implement physical and virtual Windows server-based infrastructure within defined time scales.
5. Test and operate VMWare environments.
6. Assist with Disaster Recovery procedures.
7. Analyse business and technical infrastructure requirements with project teams and business users.
8. Serve as an escalation point for issues arising on I.T. Systems managing Critical National Infrastructure & Control Rooms.
9. Log support requests with 3rd party vendors.
10. Identify, prioritise, and resolve incidents and problems.
11. Collaborate with Cyber Security and internal I.T. Teams on critical security patch deployment across varied I.T. Systems.
12. Work with Windows Server Infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Sites and Services.
13. Familiarity with Azure Administration and IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
14. Maintain asset management of Data Center infrastructure, including inventory maintenance, warranty management, vendor support, and configuration backups.
15. Document Runbooks and processes to support On-Call Team.
16. Operate within EirGrid's Governance & Planning guidelines when developing and delivering IT solutions.
