The focus of this senior sales role is to support our client by delivering exceptional sales levels through best in class planning, sales execution, compliance and reporting.
The role will be critical to the implementation of GNI initiatives to grow the natural gas network and increase connection penetration levels on the existing grid. Success in this role requires a flair for building new relationships with people from across both the private and public sector, from private homeowners to building developers. Your quality of research, contact creation and influencing skills will be critical.
The Primary Responsibilities for This Role Are:
1. Manage a defined geographic territory selling directly to Residential customers (including Mature/Existing Domestic Homes and New Housing developments), engaging with Developers/Builders, Mechanical & Electrical Consultants, Architects, BER Assessors, Approved Housing Bodies and Local Authorities, including new "central boiler" high density apartments block developments.
2. Negotiate and secure connections to the Natural Gas Network from customers across the Residential sector.
3. Identify and convert connection prospects across all Residential energy users.
4. Work as part of a high performing sales team, with responsibility for developing key relationships with owners & end users.
5. Proactively uncover new connection opportunities within your territory.
6. Develop extensive knowledge of your territory and build strategic relationships with stakeholders, contacts and potential customers.
7. Structured journey planning to maximise efficiency.
8. Communication of Gas Networks decarbonisation plans to prospective customers.
9. Cover annual leave and absence of colleague sales reps as required.
10. Support the Management Team with the roll-out of very specific targeted sales initiatives.
11. Attend events & functions (Energy shows, Exhibitions).
12. Liaise with consultants on network queries and possible gas network expansion.
Functional Responsibilities:
1. Develop a clear and accurate list of all non-gas Residential opportunities in your territory e.g. new homes, apartments and existing domestic.
2. Convert new connection opportunities into orders through proven sales techniques.
3. Closely manage sales funnel to ensure opportunities are progressed from initial enquiry to order.
4. Update all key contacts in the CRM (MS Dynamics) and ensure detailed information is logged for each contact.
5. Develop and document a clear strategy to grow the number of new connections in your territory.
6. Ensure all activities are completed safely and compliantly and in accordance with training provided on internal and external compliance and H&S guidelines.
7. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by your line manager.
8. Achieve and seek to exceed agreed sales targets.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1. 2 years F2F sales experience with proven results which can be referenced.
2. Demonstrable experience of stakeholder experience and relationship building.
3. Strong presentation skills; both verbal and written.
4. Confident business writing skills are critical.
5. Technical competence (experience/competence selling technical products or services).
6. Experience working with Microsoft suite e.g. Word and Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint.
