Purpose of post
The vision for Cardiology at the Mater Private Group includes the establishment of an academic cardiology department. A fundamental part of this vision is to ensure that excellence in clinic care is supported by and in turn partners with research and education, both nationally and internationally. Research and education can positively impact outcomes for patients, referrals, and the recruitment of top talent. The purpose of this post is to support the research work undertaken at Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI Dublin).
Specifically, the duties of the post are:
The EP Research Assistant will work as part of the research team in CVRI Dublin and will work closely with the Electrophysiology Team. The position will involve supporting clinical trial activity through participant recruitment, database management, and coordination of study visits, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications - (Essential):
BSc in a biological science, related area, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Experience - (Essential):
* Knowledge of skills required to support research studies, under supervision.
* Experience of working in a clinical setting.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
* Good written and spoken English.
* Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office packages.
* Willing to undertake training in clinical assessment techniques such as phlebotomy, vital signs, and ECGs.
* Willing to undertake training in the handling and shipment of biological samples.
Knowledge & Experience - (Desirable):
* Qualification or relevant experience in biostatistics or statistics.
