Position Summary:
The Social Media Officer will play a key role in supporting the Business Development and Marketing Manager to execute marketing and sales strategies that enhance audience engagement, increase attendance at Siamsa Tíre’s events, and achieve earned income targets. This position also aims to build and maintain the organisation’s online personality and profile through strategic content creation and social media management across platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, SoundCloud, and TikTok.
The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker, a proactive multi-tasker, a team player, and must reside locally to attend events when necessary.
Reports To: Business Development and Marketing Manager
Key Responsibilities:
1. Social Media Management:
1. Manage all social media platforms and campaigns ensuring alignment with the organisation’s goals and brand identity and guidelines.
2. Develop and implement creative, accessible, inclusive, and innovative content to engage audiences and drive brand messages.
3. Adhere to Siamsa Tíre’s brand guidelines and procedures for handling organisational information and materials.
4. Track social media trends and make recommendations for maximising return across our social media channels.
2. Content Creation and Engagement:
1. Create and schedule regular posts showcasing Siamsa Tíre’s roots, events, and values to enhance audience engagement.
2. Working with other marketing team members you will develop social media timelines that support publicity and advertising campaigns, and other brand messages, supporting quarterly, annual or seasonal company goals.
3. Respond to customer queries, comments, and complaints promptly, escalating to the Marketing Manager as needed.
4. Collaborate with local and national partners, influencers, and stakeholders to amplify content reach and engagement with inclusion of cross promotions and competitions.
5. Ensure that our funding partners, clients and interested parties are appropriately credited in all social media posts and create content to raise our profile with them.
3. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
1. Maintain monthly social media performance reports highlighting key data, metrics, and trends.
2. Track and analyse social media trends, audience insights, and competitor activities to improve campaign effectiveness.
4. Strategy Development:
1. Assist in planning marketing strategies to grow online sales, customer engagement, and traffic.
2. Participate in the annual marketing planning process, providing reports and recommendations.
3. Develop cross-promotional campaigns in collaboration with local industry partners.
5. Market Research:
1. Conduct research on audience demographics, competitors, and sales catchment areas to inform social media strategies.
2. Identify and connect with relevant influencers and partners to enhance Siamsa Tíre’s brand reputation.
6. Advertising and Budget Management:
1. Manage social media advertising budgets, monitor costs, and report on ROI.
2. Contribute to promotional strategies to maximise returns and meet revenue targets while adhering to budget constraints.
7. Internal and External Collaboration:
1. Collaborate with various departments, partners, and performers to align content with organisational priorities.
2. Represent Siamsa Tíre as an ambassador in networking opportunities, fostering positive relationships with industry stakeholders.
8. Compliance and Administration:
1. Ensure compliance with staff policies, financial controls, and organisational procedures.
2. Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of information, equipment and materials.
3. Support administrative tasks, including weekly reports and participation in weekly team meetings.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
* Degree in Marketing and/or Digital Marketing
* Proven experience in management of large social media accounts, content creation and extensive knowledge of social media platforms and website management.
* Proven experience in software proficiency (Design and video editing, MS Office, SM platforms)
* Excellent communication skills (verbal, copywriting, proofreading, editing) and customer service skills.
* Interpersonal skills – team player and experience pitching content to third parties and directing groups/arranging photo/video shoots
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
* Analytical skills to assess campaign performance and market trends.
* Experience with digital advertising and budget management.
* Knowledge of current social media platforms, tools, and best practices.
Additional Requirements/Information:
* Knowledge/experience of arts world or theatre
* Experience in communicating with diverse communities
* Competency in Irish language
* Knowledge of local industry sector and potential partners and influencers
The candidate must be flexible to attend events as required and actively contribute to the vibrant culture and mission of Siamsa Tíre.
Location: Local residency required to support on-site activities and events.

Pay: €11,700.00 per year
