Operational Risk Manager
About the Role:
The Operational Risk Manager role sits within Risk in Second Line of Defense, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer. The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Risk Management Framework in line with the company's strategy, supporting and challenging BHFS business functions in managing risk internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and driving the risk controls framework by collaborating with SMEs across all functions in BHFS and R&C colleagues across the Group.
* Maintaining strong stakeholder management, fostering collaboration, and driving ownership and accountabilities for risks across functions.
* Recruiting, coaching, and supporting other risk team members, promoting awareness of risk management through delivering training sessions.
* Leading the Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) programme, facilitating risk and control self-assessments across functions.
* Accountable for the risk event process, conducting reviews across events reported by the business functions.
* Overseeing the Issues management process to ensure business functions report and execute against issues.
* Conducting reviews of control testing performed by the business functions.
* Driving and facilitating Risk Appetite Statements (RAS) & Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) annual reviews.
* Conducting Second Line reviews and providing independent oversight on wider initiatives.
* Providing accurate and timely reporting and commentary to relevant periodic risk reporting.
Requirements:
* 7+ years experience in the payments or online travel industry or in risk management.
* Experience in independently leading risk programmes.
* Strong technical knowledge to promote a risk-aware culture and mentor junior members of the team.
* In-depth understanding of risk management tools and methodologies.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
